lol-o’s birthday

June 4, 2008

The birthday season continues.  The man of the hour is none other than my grandfather, Emilio.  Back in the day, he was a force to be reckoned with.  He attempted to get into a sparring match with a 12 year old version of me when I said something I wasn’t supposed to.  The words that threw down the proverbial gauntlets still ring in the recesses of my mind.

I will box your face.

Nonetheless, he turned the big 84.

Before the shindiggery, my cousins (Hoezay, Angela, and Sant) headed over to the pinnacle of Ladner events, the May Days.  Basically, it’s a fair with nearly a ton of cool stuff in it  like cotton candy, lemon ices, rides, live entertainment (their live jazz was exceptionally good).  Anthony, of course, biked there.  The petting zoo was emo.  The animals looked like they had funner times frolicking in the open meadow before the were captured and sold to slave handlers that ferry them between sideshows that are petting zoos.  I sound like a PETA public service announcement. *The More You Know CHIME*

My cousin Angela is fascinated by the handwashing station.

If lineup length is postively correlated with the “awesomeness” of a ride, then the ride of the weekend was definintely the…

beer garden.

I love Ladner.

The headshot of the beatiful little girl there is my cousin Charlize.  She loves the camera.  She insisted that she take a shot of my and she took the one after.  She has a good eye for a 4 year old.

As is custom, we ended off with a rousing game of Cranium Cloodle.  My cousin Wendy and I ripped it up so much that we had to change it to Sensosketch!  I sound like a fat dork.
